Background
Ryan's practice covers a broad cross-section of federal, state, and local tax matters and includes the representation of taxpayers in tax controversies as well as tax planning. Ryan advises clients on numerous tax credit and alternative energy transactions, real estate transactions, joint ventures, partnerships, and restructurings. He also advises sponsors of, and investors in, all types of private investment vehicles.
Ryan graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2009. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2014, where he was a member of the West Virginia Law Review, a member of the Tax Moot Court team, and a research assistant for the Center for Energy and Sustainable Development.
